Citizen Corps Personal Behavior Change Model for Disaster Preparedness
This issue brief introduces the Citizen Corps Personal Behavior Change Model for Disaster Preparedness. Based on social science theory that has been applied and tested in other related risk assessment areas, this model describes the various factors that might influence whether or not a person engages in disaster preparedness activities. This model is intended to serve as a tool to help design successful outreach/social marketing approaches and as a framework to conduct further research into the motivating factors and barriers to personal preparedness.
