AmeriCorps Member Recruitment (November 30, 2017)

This webinar was presented by staff of the AmeriCorps State and National unit at CNCS. The webinar audience was comprised of staff of state commissions and new AmeriCorps programs in 2017-2018. The agenda included: an overview of six basic steps for AmeriCorps member recruitment; a spotlight on AmeriCorps VISTA’s national recruitment strategy and successes; and a discussion of a brief training tool to help staff, members, and site partners describe AmeriCorps and recruit AmeriCorps members.

New AmeriCorps Program Staff Orientation (August 10, 2017)

This webinar was presented by CNCS staff in AmeriCorps State and National and the Office of Grants Management along with Stacey Rapp, AmeriCorps Program Director from the Local Initiative Support Corporation (LISC). Staff of new AmeriCorps programs launching in the 2017-2018 program year, tribal program leaders, and state commissions participated in the webinar. The agenda included a description of AmeriCorps member orientation and training requirements and recommended topics and an overview of key financial management systems necessary for strong grant management.

The agenda included recommendations for using data collection and storytelling to demonstrate the impact of AmeriCorps from AmeriCorps State and National staff and national service branding guidance from the Chief of the CNCS Office of External Affairs. 

Site Management, Member Management, and Financial Systems (August 11, 2016)

This webinar was presented by CNCS staff in the AmeriCorps State and National Office and Office of Grants Management. Participants included the staff of new AmeriCorps programs launching in the 2016-2017 program year and state commission staff. The presenters addressed key aspects of site and member management, provided an overview of financial management systems required for AmeriCorps grantees, and highlighted additional resources to support new programs.

AmeriCorps Program Evaluation: Laying the Groundwork Before Your First Evaluation (January 28, 2016)

This webinar was presented by CNCS staff in the Office of Research and Evaluation, and participants included the staff of new AmeriCorps programs in the 2015-2016 program year and state commission staff. The agenda included description of the five critical activities for your first three-year AmeriCorps grant cycle, how these activities lay the foundation for future evaluation work, and how to plan ahead to ensure that your program achieves key first-cycle milestones.
