Final Rule Training

Getting to Know the Final Rule: FGP and SCP

In this webinar, we’ll explore the “Final Rule,” which significantly revises the core regulations that support all Senior Corps programs for the first time in roughly 15 years. We’ll identify what Senior Corps grantees need to do and know now, review the process that brought us here, and examine a couple of the most important changes in more depth, including the removal of the so-called “Direct Benefit Ratio” or 80/20 rule, and a reduction in the minimum numbers of hours that volunteers need to serve.

This session will be offered twice with identical content. It will be recorded.

Session 1: 3:30-4:30 PM ET, Wednesday, January 9, 2019
This webinar has reached capacity. Please take advantage of our other training opportunities or check back for a recording. We will monitor registration and add deliveries if necessary.

The Final Rule in Action: Implementation Details for FGP and SCP

While the Final Rule offers new possibilities to all Senior Corps programs, FGP and SCP programs in particularly have new options to consider, from instituting more flexible terms of service for their volunteers to new budget flexibility resulting from the removal of the Direct Benefit ratio or 80/20 rule. In this webinar, we’ll take a deeper dive into these issues and map out the different considerations a grantee needs to consider to take advantage of these new possibilities.

This session will be offered twice with identical content. It will be recorded.

Tuesday Talks

Senior Corps Tuesday Talks: Recognition is FUN-damental

3:30-4:30 PM ET, Tuesday, January 15, 2019

In this webinar, Barb Brady of the St. Vincent Healthcare Foster Grandparent Program in Billings, Montana, will adapt her highly successful presentation, “Recognition is FUN-damental” (most recently presented live at the 2018 Senior Corps Convening). She will help learners celebrate service and boost recognition by incorporating FUN, an acronym for Formal recognition, Unusual recognition, and Necessities, the things you need to know to make recognition plans successful. Whether you are celebrating the service of an entire program or acknowledging the daily success of a single volunteer, we will explore resources you can use to enhance your program.

Registration for this session is full. A recording of the session will be added to Litmos when it is completed.

Connecting to Senior Corps Webinars

Senior Corps uses Adobe Connect to host its webinars. Adobe Connect allows users with limited and ample bandwidth alike to connect quickly and easily and have a high-quality experience. No download is necessary - it opens directly in your browser and will give you instructions to connect to audio.

To join a webinar, register for the session using one of the links above. You will receive a confirmation email with a calendar invitation and a link to join the webinar. When you join, the system will walk you through how you can connect your audio. We strongly recommend choosing to have the system call you by selecting "Dial out" and entering your phone number. This method generally leads to the highest audio quality.
