Over half of the Corporation for National and Community Service's (CNCS) budget supports education-related programs.  We believe that all students can thrive when given the chance.  AmeriCorps members help create the conditions that make students want to learn, and provide opportunities for them to achieve new academic heights. 

AmeriCorps connects caring, capable people with students who benefit from their time and personal attention.  This is where you come in!  Our members help millions of students succeed from pre-K to college.  

AmeriCorps Teacher Prep Programs

Some of our AmeriCorps State & National and Affiliate programs are specifically designed to prepare members for teaching careers after service. Such programs engage AmeriCorps members in academic achievement strategies, specifically in low-income amd at-risk areas, direct teaching, lesson plan development, and more.  To search for programs like this, visit My AmeriCorps.

Segal AmeriCorps Education Award

The Segal AmeriCorps Education Award is a post-service benefit earned by individuals who complete an approved term of national service in AmeriCorps programs.  Institutions can opt into our Education Award Matching Program and further incentivize by matching the amount of the education award, offering service scholarships, or waiving application fees. 

Institutions such as Bard College in California and the George Washington Graduate School of Education and Development in Washington, D.C. offer programs in teaching and other education fields. For a complete list visit Matching Instititions.
