Enterprise Community Partners

Enterprise Logo

The goal of the Enterprise Cultural and Climate Resilience AmeriCorps VISTA program is to increase the supply of culturally appropriate, environmentally responsible affordable housing serving Native American communities. Twenty AmeriCorps VISTA members a year—a total of 60 over three years—will work with 12 host-site partners on tribal lands across the country. The AmeriCorps VISTA members will provide a wide range of technical and capacity-building support, from natural disaster resilience planning in Montana, to a sustainable energy economy in New Mexico, to the development of a climate resilient master plan in South Dakota.

Conservation Legacy

Community Stewards logoThrough the Community Stewards’ Tribal Resilience AmeriCorps VISTA Initiative, Conservation Legacy will place AmeriCorps VISTA members in projects designed to build resilience, promote cultural heritage, and provide employment pathways in Native American communities. AmeriCorps VISTA members will support projects developed locally by Tribal Colleges and Universities, National Park Service Sites, and the Ancestral Lands Program. This initiative is strengthened by a partnership with the American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC), which is integrating it with their Native Climate Resilience Network project. AmeriCorps VISTA members will build capacity for tribal communities through work with organizations promoting resiliency, environmental stewardship, economic opportunities, food sovereignty, and youth development.

AmeriCorps VISTA members serving with Tribal Colleges and Universities will work on projects related to the preservation of traditional foods, food sovereignty, and access to education. AmeriCorps VISTA members serving at National Park Service sites will focus on the development of projects that promote tribal heritage through local NPS resources. AmeriCorps VISTA members serving with Southwest Conservation Corps Ancestral Lands Program will strive to create employment pathways for Native American Youth on federal lands through the development of new Conservation Corps.
