Efforts to remove remaining floodwaters continue in the city of Hamburg, Iowa. A good portion of the community remains underwater because of levee breaches along the Missouri River last month. Hamburg Public Works Director Alan Dovel tells KMA News the waters are slow to recede. "Currently, it cannot get out without pumping," said Dovel. "So, we're in the process of setting more pumps up. We set pumps up last week. Now, we're going to set a few more 24-inch pumps, and some 16-inch pumps to get the water out of town faster." ... Cleanup efforts continue in parts of the community no longer underwater. AmeriCorps members and other volunteers are helping residents with placing debris curbside for future pickup by Iowa Department of Transportation trucks.
