The Harlem Globetrotters and D.C.’s Virginia McLaurin, who turned 109 this year, rekindled their friendship at a D.C. public charter school on Tuesday — and this time, she serenaded them with a song of her own devising. McLaurin has celebrated with the Globetrotters on a regular basis for the past few years, and this time she joined players Zeus McClurkin and Bulldog Mack to pay a visit to the Roots public charter school. McLaurin volunteered with the Senior Corps Foster Grandparent program in Washington for more than 20 years.
