Willie T. Ricks is an integral part of the safety at Northwest Alabama Regional Airport. For the past eight years, Ricks, 76, has been a fixture at the airport as a volunteer in the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, commonly known as RSVP. Airport Director Barry Griffith said the volunteers help ensure the safety of the passengers arriving and departing on Boutique Air flights. "They're more or less the eyes and ears of the airport," Griffith said. "We appreciate their efforts."
