TTA Update for AmeriCorps State and National Grantees

1. Training Materials Posted on the Knowledge Network – The PowerPoint slides and audio files for the March 16 National Service Criminal History Check Enforcement Guide Training are now posted on the National Service Knowledge Network. You can find the presentation materials here: This webinar was designed for and delivered to staff at state commissions and national service programs, and the content would be relevant for any staff who conduct or review criminal history checks.

2. Next Grantee Training – Please log on Thursday, April 20, 3:00-4:30 pm Eastern for the next AmeriCorps program development webinar. The participation details are below. 3. Changes to the Grantee Training Calendar – There have been a couple of changes to our grantee training schedule over the last couple of months. Due to technical difficulties, our staff were not able to complete the webinar on AmeriCorps Member Training and Retention started on Friday, February 24. This webinar is re-scheduled for Thursday, June 15, 3:00-4:30 pm Eastern. In addition, the webinar on Monitoring Service Sites and AmeriCorps Members scheduled for Friday, March 24, was cancelled; it is re-scheduled for Thursday, June 29, 3:00-4:30 pm Eastern. Participation details for both re-scheduled webinars will be provided in a later TTA update this spring.

4. Online Courses on the National Service Knowledge Network – One of the biggest changes on the Knowledge Network is the transition of the online courses to a new system. A few months ago, CNCS launched a new system to support existing and new online courses based in the Litmos system. Litmos will allow CNCS to design, deliver, and track usage of online training courses for our grantees. The current online courses will remain available on the Knowledge Network until May; after that, all online courses will be available via Litmos.

Have you created an account in Litmos yet? If so, have you accessed any of the courses? How was your experience in the system? Please send any feedback, comments, etc. to me directly at

5. Regional National Service Conferences – As you know, four State Service Commissions are leading the planning and delivery of regional conferences for AmeriCorps and Senior Corps this year. You can keep up with all the latest information on these conferences, including links to the conference registration and event hotels, at The regional conferences are designed for local staff at Senior Corps projects and AmeriCorps programs in each region, though you may choose to attend a conference in a different part of the country. They are intended to expand knowledge and skills for local national service staff, and the conferences will include a variety of content options for attendees. Please be sure to let your subgrantees and local program sites know about these conferences.

Kudos to Volunteer Florida for leading a fantastic conference in Orlando at the end of March!

Please let me know if you have questions about any of this.
