2017 Commission Formula Submission - Resources

As you know, the 2017 Commission Formula deadline is Monday, June 26. CNCS will award formula grants within 30 calendar days of the submission deadline if the submitted formula application is correct and compliant, reporting is up-to-date, and the state is free from compliance concerns. Attached please find the following resources to assist with your submission:

  • Commission Formula Submission Checklist- This document identifies several common issues that delay formula award processing and provides guidance for addressing these issues. Please review this document prior to submission.
  • Performance Measure MSY Allocation Guidance- This document, which is part of the Performance Measure Instructions, provides a reminder of how MSYs should be allocated in the Performance Measure screens. Correct MSY allocations allow CNCS and Commissions to extract useful information from the Performance Measures about our investment in Focus Areas. Please ensure that MSY allocations are correct for formula subapplications.
  • 2017 Commission Formula Allocations and Guidance Email (Not attached - Please see the Grantee Communication Center post titled "2017 Commission Formula Allocations and Guidance" from May 11, 2017)

We are aware that the notification date for the 2017 AmeriCorps State and National Grants – Targeted Priority Notice of Funding Opportunity (Healthy Futures and Safer Communities) is scheduled to occur after the formula deadline. Commissions with pending subapplicants in this competition who are interested in moving unsuccessful subapplicants into their formula application can request funding for Targeted Priority subapplicants as part of the Formula Supplemental process or request an extended formula deadline to July 17. Commissions requesting extended deadlines cannot expect a start date prior to August 1 for the prime or any subapplicants. As noted above, in general, CNCS awards formula grants within 30 calendar days of submission if the submitted formula application is correct and compliant, reporting is up-to-date, and the state is free from compliance concerns.

Please contact your Program Officer or Grants Officer with any questions.

Thank you,
AmeriCorps State and National
