Executive Summary

Wilmington Area Rebuilding Ministry, Inc. proposes to mobilize 75-100 volunteers on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service to rebuild homes for low-income women of color in New Hanover, Pender, and Brunswick Counties. WARM, African Methodist Episcopal Zion (AMEZ) Housing and our other community partners will be responsible for identifying potential applicants whose household income is less than 50% AMI for their county of residence and making their homes healthy and habitable. This program will honor the life and teachings of Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. and live out the CNCS focus area of Economic Opportunity. The CNCS investment of $51,876 will be matched by $98,294 in public funding (North Carolina Housing Finance Agency) and $30,000 in private funding from corporations and individual donations.

WARM is also applying for September 11th Day of Service grant funding. That application number is 17BI193019.
