Executive Summary

The Assistance League' of Los Angeles proposes to have 2,800 volunteers who will provide programs and services for low-income and homeless children and others in need at more than 10 different locations throughout Los Angeles County on Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. On the MLK Day of Service, 200 volunteers will be responsible for serving more than 1,100 children and 2,600 volunteers will provide services to other local area nonprofit organizations benefitting children. This program will focus on the CNCS focus area of Education. For MLK, the CNCS investment of $123,450 will be matched with $288,049, no dollars from public funding and $288,049 in private funding.
