The Wichita and Affiliated Tribes is proposing to implement a Foster Grandparent Program that will provide mentoring and tutoring services to children from 2 weeks to 20 years of age who participate in Tribal youth related programs including the Gracemont Johnson O'Malley Program, the Tribal Youth Program, the School Readiness Program and the Child Care Development Center. The Tribe will hire a Project Director who will be responsible for the implementation of this new program including developing policies and procedures for intake, placement and MOU's with stations. The Director will also perform background checks of participants and assure they receive proper training.

The Director will assure that all applicable regulations and guidelines for the participants and their stations are being followed and will design tools to track performance measures as outlined in the application. Special consideration will be given to Tribal language as the Tribe has only one fluent speaker remaining.

The Tribe is proposing 60 VSP and will provide matching funds from tribal revenue equal to 10% of the proposed funding.
