Executive Summary

Beyond Z proposes to have 25 reduced-half-time AmeriCorps members who will serve as Campus Coordinators (CCs) across the BZ Accelerator network, specifically in New York, NY (5), Washington, DC (5), and parts of northern California (15). At the end of the first program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for ensuring the successful recruitment, selection, and then program completion of approximately 1,000 program participants - college students whose backgrounds are under-represented in our nation's leadership force. In addition, the AmeriCorps members will leverage an additional almost 200 young professional volunteers (Leadership Coaches) who will be engaged in coaching the leadership development of the program participants.

This program will focus on the CNCS focus area of Economic Opportunity, specifically by helping economically disadvantaged youth, including those identified in the My Brother's Keeper initiative, to have improved employability leading to increased success in becoming employed. This program will also focus on the CNCS focus area of Education as it relates to supporting economically disadvantaged students prepare for success in post-secondary educational institutions.

The CNCS investment of $130,680 will be matched with $264,157, all of which will be secured through private funding.
