Executive Summary

The AIM Center, Inc. will have eleven (11) Full-Time AmeriCorps members who will provide employment, job search, financial literacy, wellness, and housing support services to adults with severe mental illness in Chattanooga and at Park Center in Nashville, TN. At the end of the first program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for developing service recipients: 1) increased awareness and access to mental health services; 2) improved health through health education; 3) increased long-term, competitive employment rate among service recipients; 4) increased self-confidence; and 5) improved quality of life among service recipients. In addition, the AmeriCorps members will leverage an additional 50 volunteers that will be engaged in employing AIM service recipients, conducting training, and mentoring. The program will focus on the CNCS focus areas of Economic Opportunity and Healthy Futures. The CNCS investment of $146,300 will be matched with $146,177 from local and state public funding.
