Executive Summary

The Atrisco Heritage Foundation, a 501 c(3) private foundation in collaboration with its sister 501 c(3) organization the Rio Grande Educational Collaborative jointly hereinafter referred to as AHF/RGEC respectfully submit this Multistate AmeriCorps proposal. Twenty half-time AmeriCorps members will leverage an additional 200 volunteers to develop and provide the Atrisco Heritage Foundation/Rio Grande Educational Collaborative (RGEC), Reading and Math Success program in twenty schools in Bernalillo, Torrance and Santa Fe Counties. Two full time AmeriCorps will provide leadership and academic services to children in Arizona's Tribal Areas through Futures For Children (FFC). The two programs will focus on educational success, demonstrating increased academic performance in reading and math among 900 students who complete the program in the case of AHF/RGEC, as well as preparing American Indian K - 12 students through mentorship for future academic success in college, in the case of FFC. The CNCS investment of $124,874 will be matched with $108,198.
