Senior Corps connects today’s 55+ with the people and organizations that need them most. We help them become mentors, coaches or companions to people in need, or contribute their job skills and expertise to community projects and organizations. Volunteers receive guidance and training so they can make a contribution that suits their talents, interests, and availability.

Conceived during John F. Kennedy's presidency, Senior Corps currently links more than 360,000 Americans to service opportunities. Their contributions of skills, knowledge, and experience make a real difference to individuals, nonprofits, and faith-based and other community organizations throughout the United States.

Senior Corps Programs

Through grants and other resources—including the energy and efforts of citizens age 55 and over—Senior Corps helps meet the needs and challenges of America’s communities. Grants administered through Senior Corps provide funding for the following programs:

 Foster Grandparent working with kids
You’re a role model, a mentor, and a friend. Serving at one of thousands of local organizations, you help children learn to read.
RSVP Volunteers working to rebuild homes
RSVP offers a full range of volunteer opportunities with thousands of local and national organizations.
Senior Companions working together
Whether you're giving families or professions caregivers much-needed time off, running errands, or simply being a friend, you'll make a difference.
