Introducing the New Home for National Service and Volunteering
Welcome to the new online home for the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS). You’ve probably noticed that we’ve made a few changes to the look and feel of our site, so we’ve put together this short guide to navigating the site and finding what you need.
Everything Under One Roof
We’ve consolidated information from three national service sites – americorps.gov, seniorcorps.gov, and getinvolved.gov – under the nationalservice.gov website to create a single home for our programs and initiatives.
Serve, Build, and Impact
The three blocks at the top right of each page take you to areas that help you learn more about ways you can accomplish these tasks.
- Serve Your Community contains ideas and links to ways you can get involved as a volunteer and connect to our national service programs.
- Build Your Capacity includes links and information that help you find and manage CNCS grants and provides information and tips for recruiting volunteers for your projects.
- Impact on Our Nation highlights the impact of national service and volunteering on our nation and hosts CNCS research such as the annual Volunteering and Civic Life in America report.
Raising the (Information) Bar
The blue bar across the top of each page provides links to sections that let you delve further into each respective subject. By hovering over a topic in the Information Bar, you will see a dropdown menu of the areas covered in each section. For example, the Programs menu will take you to links regarding our core programs such as AmeriCorps, Senior Corps, and the Social Innovation Fund.
There’s More on the Side
Keep an eye on the menus on the left and information boxes on the right – they provide links to additional information related to the page topic and other helpful tools.
We’ve added buttons to help you connect to the social media homes for our programs, and you can also sign up for e-newsletters that can keep you informed about your favorite topics.
If you want to jump directly to some of CNCS’s most-popular programs and initiatives, there are also links at the bottom of each page. And if there are any items you are unable to locate through our menus, you can use the search box at the top of each page to find them.
Thank you for visiting the new home for CNCS at nationalservice.gov, and we hope that you enjoy your experience on our new website.
