In the spirit of the season, members of our AmeriCorps team offer a national service variation on “The 12 Days of Christmas.” So if everyone is ready, let's sing along with AmeriCorps -- and a-one, and a-two ...

On the first day of service, my sponsor gave to me, an AmeriCorps shirt.

One the second day of service, my sponsor gave to me, two phones-a-ringing and an AmeriCorps shirt.

On the fourth day of service, my sponsor gave to me, four chainsaws, three hard hats, two phones-a-ringing, and an AmeriCorps shirt.

On the fifth day of service, my sponsor gave to me, five conference calls, four chainsaws, three hard hats, two phones-a-ringing, and an AmeriCorps shirt.

On the sixth day of service, my sponsor gave to me, six kids for mentoring, five conference calls, four chainsaws, three hard hats, two phones-a-ringing, and an AmeriCorps shirt.

On the eighth day of service, my sponsor gave to me, eight wild fires, seven reports to fill, six kids for mentoring, five conference calls, four chainsaws, three hard hats, two phones-a-ringing, and an AmeriCorps shirt.

On the ninth day of service, my sponsor gave to me, nine safety vests, eight wild fires, seven reports to fill, six kids for mentoring, five conference calls, four chainsaws, three hard hats, two phones-a-ringing, and an AmeriCorps shirt.

On the 10th day of service, my sponsor gave to me, 10 work orders, nine safety vests, eight wild fires, seven reports to fill, six kids for mentoring, five conference calls, four chainsaws, three hard hats, two phones-a-ringing, and an AmeriCorps shirt.

On the 12th day of service, my sponsor gave to me, 12 volunteers to manage, 11 hammers hammering, 10 work orders, nine safety vests, eight wild fires, seven reports to fill, six kids for mentoring, five conference calls, four chainsaws, three hard hats, two phones-a-ringing, and an AmeriCorps shirt.
