RSVP Enid And North Central OK, Inc.
RSVP 2013 Competition Appendix A Part 1 Funding Opportunities
The mission of the Retired & Senior Volunteer Programs (RSVP) is to encourage residents age 55 and older to use their time, talents and life long experience to improve their community's critical needs. Volunteers enjoy better health, make new friendships, stay active and involved in the community, all while learning new skills. The RSVP program benefits the community, the organization, and the volunteer as it provides administrative duties to the Enid Senior Center, Santa Fe Depot, Oklahoma Information Center, and the Enid Mobile Meals Program.
The services provided by RSVP volunteers are in seven program emphasis areas:
Health & Nutrition- through our Mobile Meals Program, Our Daily Bread, and Wheatheart Nutrition of Enid, along with 16 other outlying areas of food service programs to small communities, just to name a few.
Human Needs Services- 4 R Kids, Ark, Telephone Reassurance, Habitat for Humanity
Education - volunteers in the grade schools in all 5 counties.
Environment- Men's Garden Club, Golden Harvesters, and 4R-Kids are our most active and productive programs to enhance our Environment programs.
Public Safety- The Transfer and the Transportation Assistance Program are 2 major highlights within our program.
Community & Economic Development- Civic Clubs, Faith Based Clubs, Enid Lights Up the Plains are very popular and volunteer rich programs which affect our communities in a positive manner.
Faith Based Services- serving over 30 churches in the Enid area, alone.
The specific station's Staff, together with RSVP, will provide the training; encouragement and support that Senior Volunteers need to carry out their volunteer duties and achieve their own personal goals.
We will endeavor to impress upon our volunteers the community's appreciation for their significant positive impact in improving the way of life in our community. We do this through our annual recognition banquet, monthly winners through our newsletters, and recognizing our Volunteers of the Month and Volunteers of the Year.
A primary part of our mission is to educate our community on the valuable services that our Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) provide in our community; and to provide our volunteers with the recognition they so richly deserve.
RSVP serves as a bridge uniting those in need with those who want to give. We currently have 1,002 volunteers serving in 121 volunteer stations. In the year 2011, our volunteers provided 165, 501 hours of volunteer service in Enid and North Central Oklahoma. Our program continues to grow larger and more productive every year, since 1983.
