Tufts University/MA Campus Compact
The new Civic Communications Corps (CCC) will engage 38 full-time CCC AmeriCorps members serving in Boston, Chicago and San Antonio who will recruit 3,800 volunteers. The CCC members will use digital communications and community outreach to connect underserved residents with vital civic information, and help residents develop the skills needed for success in a digital age. At the end of the 3 year period, 15 community organizations will have increased capacity to manage volunteers and use technology to engage the community. This project will focus on the Capacity Building focus area, with the increased volunteer management capacity ultimately benefiting the Education and Economic Opportunity areas. The Year 1 CNCS investment of $497,800 will be matched with $238,082. CIRCLE, (The Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and Engagement) based at Tufts University, is submitting the proposal on behalf of its 3 collaborating lead regional partners.
