Commission AmeriCorps State Fixed Amount Grants FY 2012
Community Action of Northeast Indiana (CANI) will use 10 AmeriCorps members to leverage 125 volunteers that will assist in providing vital financial literacy services, early childhood education and insurance availability within CANI's 12 county service area in Northeast Indiana. At the end of the 11 month period (September 2012 -- August 2013), anticipated outcomes will include an increase in community financial literacy, a rise in the number of individuals assisted with health insurance services, as well as an increase in completion of early childhood education programs. These projects will emphasis The Corporation for National and Community Services (CNCS), focus areas of Education and Economic Opportunity. This application is a request for a CNCS investment of $130,000 that will be matched with $82,489 or approximately .38 percent of total project costs.
