Twenty-four (24) AmeriCorps members will leverage an additional 1200 volunteers to teach 23,760 people in American Red Cross (ARC) health, safety, disaster preparedness, and disaster response trainings and presentations; certify 4500 people in CPR and/or First Aid; recruit 1,200 volunteers that will serve 12,000 hours; and serve 4,000 disaster clients in ARC Chapters across the state of California at the following Chapters: Los Angeles, Santa Monica, San Gabriel Pomona Valley, Humboldt, San Diego, Orange County, Antelope Valley and the Silicon Valley. At the end of the 10.5 month period, more Californians will be prepared for when a disaster strikes. This project will focus on the CNCS focus area of disaster services. The CNCS investment of $311,750 will be matched with $375,357.
