San Pasqual Band of Diegueno Mission Indians
Ten (10) AmeriCorps members, leveraging between 10-15 volunteers, will provide San Pasqual tribal students in grades K-12 with educational support mentoring services during school and afterschool. Services will take place at sites located within the San Pasqual reservation and Pauma-Valley Center Unified School District, in Valley Center, California; primarily at the San Pasqual Education Center and local K-12 schools where San Pasqual students attend. At the end of the leading 3-year program period, San Pasqual students in grades K-12 will have improved their in-school behavior, disciplines, and attendance rates, along with reducing at-risk activities. This project will focus on the CNCS focus areas of Education, gauging the impact of AmeriCorps program service using aligned National Performance Measures for outputs and outcomes produced. The CNCS investment amount of $150,000 has been requested and is based on a fixed-amount per MSY supported with detailed justification.
