Northwestern Connecticut AHEC
Twenty (20) AmeriCorps members will leverage an additional 400 volunteers to develop a public health approach that meets the increasing health and social support needs of service members, veterans and their families at Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) across the nation. At the end of the three year project (2012-2015) 1,500 unduplicated veterans will receive Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) supported assistance in health outreach and education that results in increased access to health and social support services. This project will focus on the CNCS Tier 1 Priority Measure Veterans and Military Families. The CNCS investment of $252,000 (38%) will be matched with $416,520 (62%) for a total program budget of $668,520.
