New Mexico Department of Corrections
Twelve AmeriCorps members will leverage twenty-five volunteers to reduce recidivism and improve reentry success among adult male prisoners in New Mexico publicly operated prisons. At the end of the one-year period, prisoners reentry skill sets will be improved and at the end of the three-year period, recidivism rates among those served will be five percent lower than the general prison population. This project will focus on the CNCS focus area of economic opportunity. The CNCS investment of $178,010 will be matched with $117,454.
