The Mass Mentoring Partnership Inc.
Commission AmeriCorps State FY 2012
Mass Mentoring Partnership (MMP) is the only statewide organization dedicated to strategically expanding high-quality mentoring to meet the needs of youth across Massachusetts. MMP proposes a program of 25 full-time AmeriCorps members, each of whom will complete eleven months of service with a mentoring program or youth development organization in Massachusetts. This project will focus on the Corporation of National and Community Service (CNCS) focus area of capacity building in the areas of program development and start up, match support, mentor/mentee training and marketing and volunteer mentor recruitment. These members will leverage an additional 300 volunteers annually who will be screened, trained, and matched by mentoring programs across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and implement 28 capacity building projects that build the field of mentoring. At the end of the eleven month period, the proposed program will increase the capacity of the participating youth mentoring programs by helping them create higher quality mentoring relationships with more at-risk youth; thus reducing the number of young people in need of a caring adult mentor. The CNCS investment of $320,437 will be matched with $361,835.
