Services will be provided statewide, at 31 Boys & Girls Clubs' sites in 23 communities in Illinois, to low-income, at-risk youth aged 6-18 who attend low-achieving schools. In each year of the 3-year project, it is anticipated that 1800 youth will complete the education program and 80% of those youth will increase their academic engagement by 50%; 1300 youth will complete the healthy lifestyles program and 90% of those (1170 youth) will increase their time spent in physical activity by 80%; and 500 volunteers will provide 1,000 hours of community service each year.
