United Way of Greenville County
29 AmeriCorps members will leverage an additional 1,000 volunteers to provide financial stability services to low-income residents in the Upstate of South Carolina, including Greenville, Pickens, Spartanburg, Cherokee, Union, and Laurens counties. At the end of the 3-year period, United Way of Greenville County anticipates that at least 2,500 individuals will benefit from the program by receiving tax refunds; saving money towards the purchase of an asset; having their energy costs reduced through home weatherization; receiving financial literacy services; or being screened for work and public benefits. This project will focus on the CNCS focus area of Economic Opportunity. The CNCS investment of $329,797 will be matched with $431,968 in cash and in-kind (57% of the budget) by UWGC and its partners.
