City of Davenport
Commission AmeriCorps State FY 2012
Nineteen adult and twenty-four youth AmeriCorps members will serve in four different types of intervention efforts aimed at reducing the dropout rate in the Davenport community: 1) school-based community partnership connection; 2) out-of-school time enrichment; 3) youth community engagement; and 4) experiential learning (Youth Corps). At the end of the three year period, seventy-two students who were previously at risk for dropping out will have earned their high school diploma or equivalent. This project will focus on the CNCS focus area of Education and Economic Opportunity. The CNCS investment of $196,798 will be matched with $140,640.
