A brief summary of your program proposal:
Objective: Increase the capacity of 47 Hawaiian Civic Clubs (HCCs) by 80% or more over a two-year timeframe.
Strategies: HM management team staff and consultants will provide quarterly multilevel (basic to advanced) trainings (leadership, organizational, program, and community engagement) during meetings of the HCC Councils and at the AHCC meetings located in Hawaii. Since three of the councils are located on neighboring islands, trainings will be held in four centralized and easily accessible locations across the state. Up to four capacity building workshops will be provided at the annual AHCC convention this fall in Oahu and in 2012 in Washington, DC. Other training delivery methods will include video conferencing, teleconferencing, and one-on-one consulting with staff and topic area consultants. HM already owns equipment for video and teleconferencing. In addition, HCC Councils and leaders will be trained in a train-the-trainers workshop to help provide information and direct communications with each tier of clubs under their jurisdiction. Their involvement will be as volunteers.
