GRANT AMOUNT REQUESTED:$523,480. LEAD INTERMEDIARY: United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona (UWTSA) will be the lead intermediary, and is located in Tucson, Arizona (Pima County). For more than a decade, United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizonas First Focus on Kids Coalition (FFK) has undertaken purposeful strategies to create a comprehensive systems approach to build an effective, sustainable early childhood system in southern Arizona. COLLABORATIVE PARTNERS, CORE COMPETENCIES,& THEIR LOCATIONS: PRO Neighborhoods (with core competency of technical assistance to partners); ALTA Consulting, LLC, (with core competency of evaluation as well as workshop facilitation), and First Things First (with core competency of a comprehensive regional high quality early childcare system), all located in Pima County. GEOGRAPHIC AREA TO BE SERVED: Pima County, Arizona. NUMBER OF SMALL TO MIDSIZE NONPROFITS TO BE SERVED: 10 - 20 BRIEF PROGRAM SUMMARY: We will work with coaches and mentors assigned to at least ten to twenty small to mid-size non-profit organizations who focus on offering high quality early childcare, family support, health services, or leadership/advocacy non-profits who offer services to the early childcare professional workforce. We will first identify small to mid-size non-profits in Pima County who are facing resource hardship challenges. We will announce the opportunity to participate in the program via our communications network and then we will establish Memorandum of Understanding agreements with at least ten program participants. Next, we will visit with each participating program, assign them a Coach/Mentor in the community, and identify goals necessary to develop and implement a comprehensive performance management system. Lastly, we will coordinate a series of publicly offered trainings designed to reach and serve at least an additional 25 non-profit agencies in Pima County.
