Office of the Acting CEO

House Passes FY 2010 National Service Budget

Dear Colleagues,

A few minutes ago, the House of Representatives passed the FY 2010 Consolidated Appropriations Act, bringing us a step closer to a final budget for national service.

The legislation provides $1,149,721,000 for the Corporation for National and Community Service and its programs, fully funding the President’s request. We thank the House leadership and Appropriations Committee for moving quickly on this important legislation.

Further details, including bill text, managers statement, and an updated chart are on our budget page.

The bill now goes to the Senate floor, and if approved, on to the President for his signature. We will keep you posted on any developments.

Nicola Goren
Acting CEO
Corporation for National and Community Service
