Make Your Voice Heard On Our 2011- 2015 Strategic Plan!

The Corporation for National and Community Service is seeking public input on its draft 2011-2015 Strategic Plan.  The deadline to submit comments is Wednesday, September 8th, 2010.  This plan will define our mission, goals, and the means by which we will measure progress for the next five years. It will also inform our funding opportunities, program guidance, and other resource decisions.

This plan will affect our grantees, partners, participants, and the people and communities we serve. We want and need your input to make the plan as strong, smart, and useful as it can be. Please help us refine the themes of our key objectives as we develop metrics and performance measures. Let’s work together to strengthen the impact of service in addressing the critical issues facing our communities and nation.

We encourage you to provide input by Wednesday, September 8th, 2010.  There are two easy ways for you to share your input:

  1. Provide feedback now through our community dialogue website
  2. Send an email to strategy@cns.gov

The input you provide will help shape our final plan, which will be released in the fall of 2010.

2006 - 2010 Strategic Plan

On February 8, 2006, the Corporation for National and Community Service released its Strategic Plan for 2006-2010. The plan, which benefited from extensive public input, is a blueprint for increasing the effectiveness of the Corporation’s programs and operations, and for defining the unique role that national service can play in building a culture of citizenship, service, and responsibility in America.

The plan identities five “focus areas” where the Corporation intends to significantly ramp up its efforts in the next five years:

Each focus area includes specific targets at both the national and Corporation levels, and each requires the Corporation’s programs to work together to achieve these important objectives.

Other elements of the plan include:
