Grant from CNCS initiative highlights public-private partnership

The following is excerpted from the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City press release on July 30, 2015.

The Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City and the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) today announced a $30 million public-private partnership to advance the City’s vision of transforming the delivery of mental health care services. The partnership will support the implementation of the new Connections to Care program in collaboration with the Center for Economic Opportunity and the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, which will help integrate mental health services into programs already serving low-income communities.

National Service: A Volunteer Force Multiplier After Hurricane Katrina

In the last 10 years, Corporation for National and Community Service AmeriCorps members and Senior Corps volunteers have coordinated nearly 650,000 community volunteers in response to the Hurricane Katrina recovery.
